U.S. Waterskiing Athlete Samantha Dumala Accepts Public Warning
Press Release
10th January 2020
USADA announced today that Samantha Dumala, of Wellington, Fla., an athlete in the sport of waterskiing, has accepted a public warning for failing to obtain a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) prior to her use of an otherwise prohibited medication.
Dumala’s violation resulted from her use of the prescription medication spironolactone, which she was using under the care of a physician.
Dumala, 22, declared the use of the medication on her doping control form and subsequently obtained a TUE through the established process under international rules authorizing future use of this medication in sport.
