U SPORTS Wrestling Athlete Suspended for Presence of SARM LGD-4033

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) announced today that Karla Godinez, a U SPORTS wrestling athlete affiliated with the University of the Fraser Valley, received a one-year sanction for an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete’s urine sample, collected during in-competition doping control on February 9, 2018, revealed the presence of SARM LGD-4033, a prohibited anabolic agent.

In response to the CCES’s notification of the adverse analytical finding, Ms. Godinez admitted the anti-doping rule violation in a timely fashion (in accordance with Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) Rule 10.11.2), and a hearing was held to determine sanction length. Arbitrator David Bennett imposed a sanction of one year ineligibility from sport, terminating February 24, 2019. The athlete, who resides in Langley, BC, is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport signatory to the CADP, including training with teammates.

Une athlète de lutte de U SPORTS suspendu pour la présence de SARM LGD-4033

Le Centre canadien pour l’éthique dans le sport (CCES) vient d’annoncer que Karla Godinez, une athlète de lutte de U SPORTS de l’University of the Fraser Valley, s’est vu imposer une suspension d’un an pour une violation des règles antidopage. Cette violation a été découverte par l’analyse d’un échantillon d’urine recueilli durant un contrôle de dopage en compétition réalisé le 9 février 2018, qui a révélé la présence de SARM LGD-4033, un agent anabolisant interdit.

En réponse à l’avis du CCES concernant ce résultat d’analyse anormal, Mme Godinez a promptement avoué la violation (conformément à la règle 10.11.2 du Programme canadien antidopage (PCA)), et une audience s’est déroulée pour déterminer la période de suspension appropriée. L’arbitre David Bennett lui a imposé une suspension d’un an qui prendra fin le 24 février 2019. Il est interdit à cette athlète, qui réside à Langley en Colombie-Britannique, de participer, peu importe à quel titre, à tout sport organisé signataire du PCA, y compris de s’entraîner avec ses coéquipiers.
