Top 16 Teams Advance in Prestigious SLAM 2025

Top 16 Teams Advance in Prestigious SLAM 2025

The flagship Sports Law Arbitration Moot (SLAM 6th Edition), organised by LawInSport and Presenting Partner Kellerhals Carrard, continues to help develop the next generation of international sports lawyers, with 16 exceptional teams advancing to the next stage of the competition.

Following rigorous evaluation of written submissions and oral advocacy skills before distinguished sports law practitioners, these teams emerged from an initial field of 45 universities spanning five continents.  Their advancement marks a significant milestone in the competition's mission to bridge academic excellence with real-world sports law practice.

The qualifying teams demonstrated their legal analysis and advocacy skills in addressing this year's moot problem - a complex employment dispute between a football coach and club based on the real world scenario. This practical focus exemplifies SLAM's commitment to preparing participants for actual sports law practice.

Path to Court of Arbitration for Sport

The Round of 16 will feature each team arguing before panels of three Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) arbitrators. The eight victorious teams will advance to the grand finals, hosted at CAS headquarters in Lausanne on April 10-11, 2025. Beyond competing for the £1,500 first prize and £1,000 runner-up award, finalists will gain invaluable experience presenting in the same venue where many landmark sports law cases are advocated and heard.
