Reminder letters were sent to all trainers on 24 September 2020, 17 November 2020 and 8 December 2020. Also, the National Trainers Federation published in their newsletter reminders to all trainers on 30 September 2019, 31 January 2020, 6 November 2020 and 3 December 2020. On 27 January 2021 a final letter was sent to him advising that the training had to be completed by yourself by 3 February 2021

AAA Arbitrator Imposes Four-Year Sanction on Weightlifting Athlete James Nelson for Anti-Doping Rule Violation
USADA announced today that an independent arbitrator from the American Arbitration Association (AAA) has concluded the case of weightlifting athlete James Nelson, of Fort Worth, Texas, and has determined that Nelson should receive a four-year sanction for his anti-doping rule violation. The decision comes after the facts of the case were presented and fully argued at an evidentiary hearing on June 10, 2021.

Press Statement on the Positions of Mr Nicolae VLAD and Dr Hasan AKKUS on the IWF Executive Board
After the publication of the ITA investigation report, Nicolae VLAD (ROU) and Dr Hasan AKKUS (TUR) have both stepped aside from their respective roles on the IWF Executive Board, pending completion of the processes related to the Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) that have been asserted against them. In both cases, the ADRVs were asserted following a recent investigation by the International Testing Agency (ITA) that had been mandated by the IWF. Mr. Vlad also resigned from his position as Technical Delegate for Tokyo 2020. Neither will travel to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and their accreditations are being returned.
CAF Deputy Secretary Anthony Baffoe to leave CAF
CAF Deputy General Secretary Anthony Baffoe will leave the continental football body at the end of this month, June 2021.
Baffoe, who has been the Deputy General Secretary since 2017, has been in charge of Football and Development at CAF.

RFU Council vote in favour of covid recovery plan
The COVID Recovery Plan is aimed at improving the financial stability and sustainability of professional rugby during the next three seasons while also providing benefits for England Rugby and the community game.
The Covid Recovery Plan, with a temporary pause on relegation, follows a detailed consultation that was announced in February after the RFU Council voted in favour of no relegation from Gallagher Premiership Rugby or the Greene King IPA Championship for the 2020/21 Season. The extensive consultation included Premiership Rugby and their clubs, Championship clubs, The RPA, RFU Board and RFU Council.

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 to move to UAE and Oman
The International Cricket Council (ICC) today confirmed that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be staged in the UAE and Oman due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in India. The BCCI will remain the hosts of the event, which will now be held in Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, from 17 October to 14 November 2021.

As the situation stands, it may imply the IOC having to make decisions that would prove detrimental to other athletes from the Americas. WADA releases new education program for ‘Talented Athletes’
Today, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) releases a new education program entitled ‘ADEL for Talented Athletes’ which is available on the Agency’s Anti-Doping Education and Learning Platform (ADEL).
This new education program, specifically targeting ‘Talented Athletes’, is the sixth program that has been made available for athletes on ADEL. In line with the International Standard for Education (ISE), this program provides a solution for Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) wishing to educate athletes at the ‘talented level’ as defined and recommended within WADA’s Guidelines for Education.
LA28 invests $9.6mn in kids sports
The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games announced it will invest USD9.6 million (EUR8.06 million) to fund youth sports across Los Angeles, helping bring kids back to sport and fitness as the community moves forward from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The USD9.6 million investment is part of LA28’s USD160 million (EUR134.4 million) commitment to make sports more accessible to kids across Los Angeles ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028, the single largest commitment for youth sport development ever in California.

Barrister to lead independent investigation into Swimming Australia culture
A leading barrister will lead an independent investigation into claims of an abusive culture within Australian swimming.
Chris Ronalds assisted in developing the country’s sexual discrimination laws and will now lead the independent investigation into swimmers claims that there is a culture of abuse within Swimming Australia. Ronalds will lead the investigation with an all-female panel and has requested for swimmers to come forward with any complaints they wish to make.
Jayasundara banned for seven years under ICC Anti-Corruption Code
Sanath Jayasundara, a former performance analyst at Sri Lanka Cricket, has been banned from all cricket for seven years after the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
IOC Executive Board receives update on the International Weightlifting Federation
Last week, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board (EB) received updates regarding the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and the two latest developments: the findings of the International Testing Agency (ITA)’s investigative report, published on 24 June 2021, and the outcome of the IWF Constitutional Congress held on 30 June 2021.
WORKING GROUP ON THE REVIEW OF WADA GOVERNANCE REFORMS
A small Working Group of governance experts was established by the WADA Executive Committee at its November 2020 meeting. The composition of this new Working Group on the Review of WADA Governance Reforms includes seven governance experts (two proposed by Governments, two by the Sport Movement, one independent Chair, and two expert athletes (nominated by WADA’s Athlete Committee). One of the athletes (Chelsey Gotell) was added to the Group in March 2021 following the decision of the Executive Committee in November 2020, that the Group could be expanded with an additional athlete, subject to an appropriate athlete expert being put forward by the WADA Athlete Committee. An essential part of the work of this Group will be to consult all stakeholders, including athletes and NADOs, using a wide-ranging consultation process in the same spirit as the one used for past World Anti-Doping Code reviews.

FIFA extends mandate of Normalisation Committee in Pakistan
The Bureau of the FIFA Council has today decided to extend the mandate of the normalisation committee of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), which was due to expire on 30 June 2021, until 30 September 2021.
The Bureau took note that, since the suspension of the PFF, the normalisation committee has been working relentlessly in an effort to meet the criteria for the suspension to be lifted, which will occur when the PFF’s premises, accounts, administration and communication channels are once again under the normalisation committee’s full control and the committee can continue to carry out its mandate without further hindrance. At present, however, the PFF’s premises continue to be occupied and the PFF therefore remains suspended.
IOC announces nursing mothers can bring their children to Tokyo Olympics
The IOC has now confirmed that mothers who are breastfeeding their children can bring their child with them to the Tokyo Olympics.
Debate began when Canadian basketball player Kim Gaucher said that due to Covid restrictions she would either have to spend 28 days away from her daughter or be forced to miss the Olympics. Gaucher said “Japanese fans are going to be in attendance, the arenas are going to be half-full, but I will not have access to my daughter? We’ve tried appeals. Everyone says they’re on board, but nobody can do anything. Let’s see if we can make a difference. It’s 2021. Let’s make working moms normal.”

CGF to conduct review of Commonwealth Youth Games
The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) have confirmed that they will conduct a full review of the Commonwealth Youth Games and make recommendations to the unique proposition, purpose and value of the event.
Following the first Youth Games in Edinburgh in 2000, there have been six editions of the competition with the most recent event taking place in The Bahamas in 2017.
Premiership Rugby to expand to 14 teams with no threat of relegation for next two seasons
The Rugby Football Union has approved major structural changes to the Premiership which will see it increase to 14 teams with no threat of relegation during the next two seasons.
Saracens won promotion back into the Premiership this month, after one season in the Championship, where they will form a 13-team league with no relegation before the 21/22 Championship winners join to form a 14-team league for the 22/23 campaign, that season will also see no relegation or promotion. The following campaign will introduce a play-off between the side that finishes bottom of the Premiership and the side at the top of the Championship.
Salwa Eid Naser (Bahrain) found guilty of an Anti-Doping Role Violation (whereabout failures) by CAS
Lausanne, 30 June 2021 - The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has upheld the appeals filed by World Athletics (WA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the decision issued by the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal on 14 October 2020 (the Challenged Decision) in which it was determined that Ms Salwa Eid Naser had not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) in relation to an alleged filing failure and missed tests between March 2019 and January 2020.

U.S. Paralympic Track & Field Athlete David Prince Accepts Sanction for Anti-Doping Rule Violation
USADA announced today that David Prince, of Bradenton, Fla., an athlete in the sport of Paralympic track and field, has accepted a 12-month suspension for an anti-doping rule violation.
Prince, 37, tested positive for ostarine (enobosarm), as well as LGD-4033 (ligandrol) and its metabolite di-hydroxy-LGD-4033, as the result of samples collected out of competition on September 27, 2020, October 15, 2020, and November 11, 2020. Ostarine and LGD‐4033 are Non-Specified Substances in the class of Anabolic Agents and are prohibited at all times under the USADA Protocol for Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee National Anti-Doping Policy, and the International Paralympic Committee Anti-Doping Code, all of which have adopted the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
